Apparently, I need a side-note for people speaking the Queen’s Englsh:

Ladder and latter are homophones in American English.

It’s called intervocalic alveolar flapping. Here’s a link to Webster’s Dictionary, confirming.

We won the war, we can intervocalic alveolar flap if we want to.

We can leave England behind.

Because if England don’t flap, and if they don’t flap, then they’re no country of mine.
